The authentication token is a simple tool from which you retrieve a new authentication number every time you log on to your bank on the Internet. The token is in keeping with the latest technology and the strictest security requirements on the market and considerably increases security when loggin on to Internet banks.
One will do
Your token works for all banks and savings banks in Iceland. This means that you need only one token. You will need to activate your token the first time you log on. After that, you will need to have the token on hand each time that you log on to your bank on the Internet and also when you log on to a company bank, if you have access to such a bank.
Register immediately
The period from 29 January to 28 February will see the implementation of the change which will make it compulsory for all Internet bank users to use the authentication token when logging on. We encourage you to start using the token immediately, as it substantially increases your banking security. No extra costs are involved in using the authentication token, and it takes only seconds to use.
