Securities Trading

In the Arion app, you can trade shares in all companies listed on the Main Market and First North.

Create a securities portfolio
Hlutabréf

Create securities transaction

To engage in trading stocks or funds, you need to establish securities trading. Subsequently, a custody account is created. A custody account is a bank account linked to a securities portfolio and is necessary for settling transactions with securities and funds.

App - Verðbréfasafn - light

Simple electronic process

One
Create a securities portfolio

Prókúruhafi svarar nokkrum spurningum um þekkingu og reynslu á verðbréfaviðskiptum og skráir hverjir eigi að hafa umboð til að kaupa og selja.

Two
Create LEI

Ef ætlunin er að eiga viðskipti með hlutabréf þarf að stofna LEI-auðkenni en þess þarf ekki ef einungis er um sjóðaviðskipti að ræða.

Three
Submit purchase

Select the appropriate fund or shares.

Diverse selection of funds available

A wide range of funds is available to investors. It costs you nothing to buy and sell funds in the app and online banking, and there is no minimum purchase requirement.

It's also easy to establish regular savings in funds by registering the company for a subscription.

Funds

Companies listed on the Main Market and First North

In the Arion app and online banking, you can see the domestic listed shares that are available for trading. The buying and selling process is very simple.

A 25% discount on fees is provided for stock transactions executed through the app and online banking.

Securities

LEI identifier

Legal entities are required to have a Legal Entity Identifier (LEI) to trade registered securities from 1 September 2021.

The purpose of this requirement is to enable international supervisory authorities to monitor transactions undertaken by individual legal entities, thereby strengthening oversight of systemic risk and supporting the investigation of any misconduct related to securities trading.
