Arion Bank recognised for its strong focus on outstanding corporate solutions

Arion Bank has been nominated by brandr as Brand of the Year 2025 for the second year in a row. This time, the nomination is in the Corporate Banking category.

“We are absolutely delighted, as we have invested a great deal of work in strategy development and product innovation within our corporate division in recent years, introducing numerous new solutions for our customers,” says Benedikt Gíslason, CEO of Arion Bank.

“We naturally take this encouragement from brandr as motivation to continue doing our very best and supporting companies across Iceland.”

New banking solutions developed based on customer feedback and needs

Arion Bank’s Corporate Banking Division has long been a driving force in innovation within the financial market. Its business model is built on secure, efficient and digital solutions that support the sustainable growth of Icelandic companies. Our approach combines technological innovation, data-driven insights and close collaboration with customers.

During 2023–2024, we changed our approach to developing the bank’s digital solutions to better reflect this strategy. We began by analysing customer feedback and comments, followed by an extensive journey involving numerous in-depth interviews with employees from companies that bank with us — ranging from sole proprietors to large corporations.

Based on this work, we developed a clear set of priorities reflecting the diverse financial needs companies face at different stages of their operations. Developing new solutions in this way, in close collaboration with our customers, has resulted in strong outcomes and high customer satisfaction. It is gratifying to see this recognised, as evidenced by the brandr nomination.

Leading the way toward the end of 2025

Hákon Hrafn Gröndal, Managing Director of Corporate & Investment Banking at Arion Bank, says that the division’s services cater to companies of all sizes — from startups to large enterprises — with a clear vision for the future: to make financial services simpler, faster and more accessible.

“Although the companies in our target groups may differ greatly, they all share one thing in common: people are responsible for managing their finances,” Hákon points out. “We place particular emphasis on reaching financial managers, speaking directly to them and serving their needs — because we offer everything a financial manager needs.”

“It is also very encouraging to see that our focus on solutions and technological innovation is delivering measurable results,” Hákon adds. “According to Gallup, we rank highest among banks when it comes to being at the forefront by the end of 2025.”

Five other outstanding companies also nominated

In addition to Arion Bank, five other excellent companies received nominations from brandr in the same category: Ölgerðin, Advania, Payday, Dropp and Hoobla.

We extend our warm congratulations to them — and our sincere thanks.
