Increase of large payment thresholds to 30 million ISK

The Central Bank of Iceland has changed the amount limits in its interbank system. In conjunction with this change, Arion Bank has increased the maximum amount for large payments from 10 million ISK to 30 million ISK.

This means that all payments of less than 30 million ISK will go through the small payments system, which is open 24 hours a day, every day of the year. Payments above this amount can only be processed between 9:00 AM and 4:10 PM on business days.
