What's in it for you?

This is a great opportunity to learn about investing in a real market environment, without putting your own money at risk.

The competition lets you explore investing, learn key concepts, and see how investments perform in real time.

You've got to play by the rules

  • Only university students can win prizes, and confirmation of enrollment will be requested from those students who finish in the top three places.

  • You must register by 26 October to be eligible for a prize (you may take part after that date, but you will not be eligible to win).

  • You cannot buy and sell assets on the same day. You must hold an asset in the company for at least one day, and a 0.75% fee applies to sale transactions.

  • To be eligible to win, you need to diversify your investments by holding shares in at least four companies.

  • Any participant found to have misused information about price movements or engaged in insider trading will be disqualified from the competition.

  • You can only buy and sell assets during the Icelandic Stock Exchange's opening hours, from 09:30 to 15:30 on weekdays.
