App authentication allows users to identify themselves in online banking and the Arion app using an authentication number that appears in the authentication app on mobile devices. Each authentication number is valid for 30 seconds, after which a new number is generated.
The authentication works independently of phone signal and should therefore be suitable for users who access online banking in areas without phone coverage.
Download an authentication app from the App Store or Google Play Store. Examples: Google Authenticator, Microsoft Authenticator. These apps have no access to information about Arion Bank's online banking users.
Log in to online banking and select Settings > App authentication
Verify yourself with a password or electronic credentials.
A QR code and registration key will appear on the screen. You can choose to scan the QR code in the authentication app or enter the registration key.
After that, the Arion Bank online banking authentication number will appear in the authentication app.
Enter the authentication number and click on Activate.
Then You have activated App authentication will appear, allowing you to use the authentication number from the authentication app when logging in and authenticating in Arion Bank's online banking and app.
You can always deactivate App authentication for online banking under Settings > App authentication.
