Organisational changes at Arion Bank
A number of organisational changes are to be made at Arion Bank. Treasury will be separated from Capital Markets and incorporated into the Finance division. Stefán Pétursson has been appointed Chief Financial Officer (CFO). In recent years he has served as managing director of the finance division of Landsvirkjun. Eggert Teitsson will become assistant managing director of Finance and Gudmundur Thórdur Gudmundsson will become managing director of Capital Markets.
Stefán held a variety of management positions at Landsvirkjun and was managing director of finance from 2002. He has an MBA from Babson College in Massachusetts and a cand. oecon. from the University of Iceland. Stefán was born in 1963 and is married with two children.
Changes are also being made to the Bank’s communications team. Ida Brá Benediktsdóttir will head the communications team in the CEO’s Office and will be responsible for public and internal relations, as well as relations with financial institutions and investors.
Ida Brá has worked at Arion Bank since 2000, first in Research and later in Investor Relations. Most recently she has been head of department in the Treasury division. Ida Brá graduated in business administration from the University of Iceland and has a Master's in finance from the Rotterdam School of Management. Ida Brá was born in 1976 and is married with two children.
Jónína S. Lárusdóttir has been appointed managing director of the Legal division and she will start work before 1 November. Jónína has a Master’s from the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) and a degree in law from the University of Iceland. Jónína has extensive experience of the Icelandic business sector and in recent years has worked at the Ministry of Economic Affairs, most recently as permanent secretary. Jónína was born in 1970 and is married with two children.
