Use contactless payment methods if possible

Various precautionary measures have been taken to hinder the spread of the coronavirus, COVID-19. The Department of Civil Protection and Emergency Management now recommends that people use contactless payment for reasons of added hygiene. 

Customers of Arion Bank can link their debit and credit cards to Apple Pay or the Arion app (Android) and pay with their smart phones or watch. You can easily enable these payment methods by following the instructions here.

There are no restrictions to size of transactions made by smart phone or watches. You can also use contactless payment cards, where the maximum transaction is ISK 5,000.
