Arion Bank receives international award for most disruptive innovation of the year

Arion Bank received an award yesterday from the Retail Banker magazine for the Most Disruptive Innovation of the Year. The award was given for the Bank’s digital mortgages. Customers can now get a credit appraisal from Arion Bank in just a few minutes and digital mortgages have made the process of buying a house more straightforward than ever before.

The Bank was competing with major financial institutions such as Santander, Nordea and RBC and only two banks received more nominations. The projects for which Arion Bank was nominated were:

  • Digital mortgage process in the category Best Customer Facing Technology
  • 3-minute credit appraisal in the category Best IT Transformation
  • Digital mortgage process in the category Most Disruptive Innovation of the Year
  • Digital mortgage process in the category Best Service Innovation
  • Digital future in the category IT Innovation of the Year
