Arion Bank allowed to use the equal pay symbol

Arion Bank has become the first Icelandic bank to receive permission to use the Ministry of Welfare’s equal pay symbol after the Bank was awarded certification by the standards organization BSI á Íslandi.
There is a strong tradition of promoting equality at Arion Bank and the Bank has been certified by BSI á Íslandi since 2015 when it first obtained equal pay certification from the labour union VR. The Bank has undergone regular audits to maintain this certification.
The Ministry of Welfare’s equal pay symbol, like VR’s equal pay certification, is confirmation that the Bank has codified salary decisions and that the Bank has in place an equal pay system which helps to ensure that the people doing the same or equally valuable jobs are not discriminated against in terms of salaries.
Arion Bank has a clear equal opportunities policy and the Bank has been a signatory to the CEO Statement of Support for the Women’s Empowerment Principles, a joint initiative between UN Women and the UN Global Compact, since 2014.
