Helgi Rafnsson - CEO of Rafholt
Rafholt is 20 years old and has for years been one of the largest companies in Iceland in the electrical industry sector. We are a contracting company that primarily handles larger projects along with maintaining fixed service agreements with many of the largest companies and institutions in the country.
Responsible management policies and the best staff are what make the company flourish. It matters to retain good people, and we place great emphasis on ensuring our people feel good at work.

Technological changes have been rapid in recent decades, and our company has evolved in line with market needs. This development requires increased knowledge from our people. We work with traditional electrical installations, network installations, fiber optic installations, home automation systems, and antenna installations throughout the country. Within the company, there are specialized departments that handle specific projects, but there is also overlap between departments, which increases versatility and the ability to solve the most complex tasks.
Diverse operations have served us well; creating stability in our business and smoothing out economic fluctuations. Responsible financial policy has enabled us to finance ourselves with equity rather than debt. This is not only more economical, but it also makes us quicker to respond to situations that may arise.
Running a company comes with social responsibility, and maintaining efficient and good operations that leave a positive impact on the local community and employees is key.
Having a good reputation is a success for us.

Success can take many forms. Companies have different and diverse goals, but our role is to help clients achieve the results they are aiming for.

We wanted to create a design-driven clothing brand. The inspiration comes from our surroundings, Icelandic nature and culture with a small dash of rural romanticism.

We got the idea for Lava Show when we witnessed the eruption at Fimmvörðuháls.

We want to be a powerful attraction for Borgarfjörður eystri. Blábjörg is therefore all at once a hotel, restaurant, spa, brewery and café.

We wanted to build on the Icelandic tradition of dried fish, which is as old as settlement in Iceland, but approach it in a new way.

The idea almost ten years ago was to build a house around innovation in Iceland. The project is not about renting office space but rather creating a new community here.
